Last Day of Songkran

After all the blessings and splashing all the way from Koh Samet, we were back to Eastern Bus Terminal!

Along the highway, we could see how Thai people have fun during this hottest season of the year!

Yeah, these tongs were all filled with water!! And they were splashing water and powder on every person and vehicle along their way! >@<

Most vehicles (and people) would look like this during Songkran festival unless you don’t want to be blessed!!

Three armed soldiers at the bus station symbolized our arrival back to the land of the City of Angels. They were there probably as a consequence of political tension during the state of emergency!

At the entrance of each MRT station, reminders requested all guests to “empty” their gun before entering the station =.="

We could feel the excitement of Thai people doing all the splashing on their last day of Songkran. We walked back to Sitara Place from Phra Ram 9 MRT Station and still managed to get a little bit of splashing along the road back... but I was eager to get more!

Nat suggested that we only get the water gun war the next day in Khao San as Thai government announced another 2 days holiday. And according to the online news, the water gun war in Khao San would be extended for one more day. So we arranged something else that night!

We took the MRT train from Phra Ram 9 to Lumphini station and walked to the famous Polo Fried Chicken for our dinner.

We ordered the famous fried chicken with garlic, minced pork, fried catfish salad and sticky rice.

The sticky rice was served in a traditional rice bucket..

Then it was one whole night shopping at Suan Lum Night Bazaar just located next to Lumphini Station.

Something funny in our train back was that the train was full with “wet” and “powdered” Thai youngsters, some still “armed” with their water gun, shivering in the air-conditioned train.. Most of them had just completed their mission in Silom!! Haha..
