Ok, the story continues...
This was our supposed day of Khao San’s water gun war! According to the online news, the war was extended for one more day in Khao San!
Water guns loaded full and.. GET SET GO!!
Heart-full of excitement for the upcoming water gun war!! :)
Got a glimpse on Bangkok’s highest skyscraper, King Rama V (or King Chulalongkorn) Equestrian Monument, and Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall on our way to Khao San.
Great decorations for Songkran but...
Hey, where are the warriors!!! =.=”
Embarrassed, embarrassed!!
We decided to go back to Ratchada for lunch. It was a busy traffic hour. Our taxi driver pandai pandai drove us across Chao Phraya River and turned back to avoid jam!! Gosh!! 囧
The only interesting scene was the Elephant or Chang Building.
We stopped at Thailand Cultural Center MRT Station and crossed the road to Esplanade for some Japanese food.
Fuji Bento Set, which would probably feed the hungry me well after a long taxi tour. It was only 190THB!! 抵!!
We were then out again in the late afternoon after a rest, and planned to explore the famous shopping mall district of Bangkok.
TIPS: Get a free map from BTS and MRT stations and you may explore the city yourself! It contains details of most shopping malls, night markets and bazaars, and most sight-seeing sites.
Look up!! You’ll notice this massive network of wires everywhere in Bangkok! A unique sky view of Bangkok! :P
And Bangkok people will just do their sembahyang whenever they came to a relic shrine.. Amitabha..
Mahboonkrong or MBK, one of the famous shopping mall in Bangkok. Note the colourful taxis in Bangkok! :)
Some Songkran activities were still going on... Too bad for the failed water gun mission.. sob sob...
All malls and shop areas are linked through the train station bridge and it’s convenient to browse from one place to another.
“My Mom Made”!! Haha..
And the famous Siam Paragon!! High-end place...
We had a special trip to the car show rooms IN the mall!! @.@
And it was also where we enjoyed the worthy Swensen’s ice creams!!
Thais just love mango and sticky rice!! I took mango ice cream with green sticky rice (only 70THB!!!).
I also aimed to visit Thao Maha Brahma shrine, the famous four faced Buddha at Erawan.
This shrine is very famous among Hongkies and their celebrities...
The nice-looking traditional dressed dancers caught my eyes! I hope my little wish will come real and I will then come back to offer the holy dance.
Bangkok has many Seven-Eleven stores, occupying almost every corners of it. You may explore whole Bangkok by holding your breath while running from one Seven-Eleven to another.
My another mission was to visit Pratunam Complex and Platinum Fashion Mall.
But too bad!! We were late!!! :(
TIPS: Shopping malls in Bangkok close earlier at around 2100. So if you wanna do some shopping, please be early!
We visited some roadside stalls, got a glance at the largest tied crabs I’d ever seen, and bought a fresh mango from an old lady, before riding a taxi back to Sitara.
next year I got one week off again for Songkran!
