Awesome cake and salad making experience took place in Jess’s “open” kitchen.. surrounded by her family doggies!
We were using Graham’s biscuits and peach as the main ingredients for the cake.
And we also enjoyed the bread fruit crackers during the process..
Philippines Salad..
A visit to Kuching’s weekend market... where funny commodities were observed..
Durian hutan which already becoming rare in West Malaysia.. And talap, a funny looking fruit which I believed belonging to the same family as cempetak..
Sarawak’s native carbonated drinks.. and mom-made baos..
Coffee seller, which you may not see in West Malaysia.. and a kid at one of the many stalls selling chilies..
Pork stall selling all sorts of pork food.. we tried on the pork sausage.. taste okay but bit oily to me..
The famous terubuk masin (a kind of salted fish), which you may be amazed by their long queue of customers and their professional way of packaging.. Many of their customers were actually bringing this on board...
These cute-looking chilies were praised as “the hottest in Sarawak”.. And lada (pepper) which is an important commodity of Sarawak..
And many other vegetables and fruits which we don’t see in West Malaysia..
After this, we enjoyed a great feast in Jess’s house, a birthday celebration for her mom..
Yellow wine chicken rolls..
Fried fish fillets..
Vinegar pork leg..
Olives..
This is how the inside of talap..
And we also brought some gifts for Jess’s family..
